Tips for a good photo assessment

1 Take one photo from a distance (30–60cm) to show the full surface and surrounding area.
​
2 Take a close-up of the damage itself — as sharp and in-focus as possible.
3 Photograph in natural daylight if possible — avoid flash, which flattens the surface and hides depth.
4 Include a coin or pen in the close-up shot so we can gauge the size of the damage.
5 Let us know the surface material if you know it — granite, quartz, acrylic, etc. — though we can usually identify it from the photo.
